Sixteenth-century walls and bastion beside the glamping garden in Capua

The house and the family Our story

From noble villa to glamping: how you wake up a garden that slept for ten years.

Before it became glamping, this place was many other things: a family orchard, a formal garden, a forgotten oasis behind a locked gate. Its story explains better than any brochure why Capua Bubble Room was born exactly here.

Origins

The bastion and the villa

The property stands against the Gran Maestrato San Lazzaro bastion, part of the sixteenth-century walls that still embrace the historic centre of Capua. Around the family palazzo lies the orchard garden: seven thousand square metres enclosed by a wall, with the Volturno river not far away.

20th century

One family, one orchard

The Pastore Galderio, one of the old noble families of Capua, farm the garden generation after generation: lemons, oranges, peaches, plums, hazel and olive trees. People in town talk about it, but almost nobody gets in.

The sleep

Over a decade of silence

The property stops. For more than ten years the villa and the garden stay closed while Capua changes around them. The trees keep bearing fruit that nobody picks.

The insight

Raffaele opens the door onto the garden

Raffaele Rucco Pastore Galderio looks at the orchard and understands that this beauty cannot stay private. The idea takes shape: hospitality that does not consume the place — no new buildings, no concrete, only transparent domes among the trees.

Today

The first bubble hotel in Campania

The garden is carefully woken and modernised: lit paths, eco-friendly systems, local stone. Capua Bubble Room is born, the first bubble glamping in the region.

Why glamping, and not a hotel

Building a hotel inside that garden would have meant tearing part of it down. Glamping — outdoor hospitality with the comfort of a real room — allows the exact opposite: you set it down, you do not build it. When the domes are removed, the garden will be identical to what it was. That is the difference between borrowing a place and owning it.

“A villa that slept for decades. A garden that kept its scent in silence. A family that guarded a secret. And then — the awakening.”
